Vaccines and Beer

I am sitting in an internet cafe drinking jugo de valle, juice made here in Cochabamba. I don´t know what flavor Tumbo is, but it is pretty damn good. We went for a long walk tonight and I was able to get a vibe on some of the prices of stuff.

Two dark beers and a pizza at a nice restaraunt: around $4.50 USD
Three bottles of juice and a pack of bubble gum: around $1.25
The cheapest bottle of champagne at the grocery store: $1.50
The cheapest price for beer I have found (three bottles): $1.25
Ramen noodles: same as US.

Tomorrow we meet our host families, the houses we will be staying in for the next three months. I think there is a big celebration in one of the villages this weekend; hard to say. I am looking forward to playing soccer with the local kids; they have public concrete fields here the size of basketball courts, pretty cool stuff.

Today I had three of my vaccines; they space them out so you don´t have to get them all at once; they were poking me from both sides at the same time..the good news, with three down I only have..................thirteen left to go.........until next year...
